Brave Search MCP server (official)

MCP server
submitted by u/client to c/data · 0 uses

Web, news, image, video and local search with AI summaries, powered by the independent Brave Search API.

Brave's server gives an agent web search, news, images, videos, local business results and Brave's summarizer, all from Brave's own independent index. It needs a Brave Search API key (there is a free tier). Results are read-only search data. Good as a general-purpose, privacy-friendly search tool for research tasks.

Try asking:

  • "Search for the latest release notes for Next.js and summarise the breaking changes."
  • "Find coffee shops near Union Square open now."
  • "What's in the news today about the EU AI Act?"

Sign-in: an API key or token (set it in the install snippet below).
