Claude Code automation recommender (Anthropic)

Skill
submitted by u/client to c/agents · 0 uses

Analyzes your codebase and recommends hooks, subagents, skills and MCP servers to set up.

Inspects a project (languages, tools, dependencies, existing Claude config) and recommends which Claude Code features would help most, such as specific hooks, subagents, skills, plugins or MCP servers, with reasons and setup tips. It's read-only analysis and is useful when first setting up Claude Code on a repo.

Try asking:

  • "What Claude Code automations should I set up for this repo?"
  • "How should I configure Claude Code for this project?"
  • "Recommend hooks and MCP servers for our stack"

Install this skill

Skills are folders with a SKILL.md file. Claude loads one on its own when a task matches its description. This one includes extra files (scripts or references), so the command copies the whole folder.

Claude Code plugin (easiest, stays up to date)
/plugin install claude-code-setup@claude-plugins-official
Claude Code: for every project
npx degit anthropics/claude-plugins-official/plugins/claude-code-setup/skills/claude-automation-recommender ~/.claude/skills/claude-automation-recommender
Claude Code: this project only (commit it to share with your team)
npx degit anthropics/claude-plugins-official/plugins/claude-code-setup/skills/claude-automation-recommender .claude/skills/claude-automation-recommender

Made by Anthropic, Apache-2.0 license. Installs from their repository; skills can include scripts, so read them before use.

In the Claude apps, zip the folder and upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
