GitHub MCP server (official, remote)

Read and manage repos, issues, pull requests, Actions and code search from your agent, hosted by GitHub.

GitHub's own MCP server. Your agent can search code, read files, open and review pull requests, triage issues and check workflow runs.

Auth: VS Code signs in with OAuth. Other clients send a personal access token as Authorization: Bearer <token>; give it only the scopes you need (read-only is fine for exploring).

Good for: "Summarise open PRs that touch the billing code", "Find where we call the payments API and open an issue for each TODO".

Optional: fill these in to put them straight into the snippet. They stay in your browser and are never sent to CommandVault.

Or add to .cursor/mcp.json (project) or ~/.cursor/mcp.json (everywhere)
