Neon MCP server (official, remote)

Manage Neon serverless Postgres projects, branches and SQL from your agent over a hosted OAuth endpoint.

Neon's hosted server lets an agent list and create projects, spin up database branches, run SQL, inspect schemas and walk through migrations on a temporary branch before applying them. You sign in with Neon OAuth in the browser, or send a Neon API key as a bearer token for headless clients. Branch-based migrations make it safer than running DDL straight against production. Good for prototyping schemas, debugging slow queries and preparing migrations for review.

Try asking:

  • "Create a branch of my 'shop' project and add an index on orders.customer_id there, then show me the query plan before and after."
  • "List my Neon projects and tell me which databases are largest."
  • "Draft a migration that adds a 'status' column to invoices and test it on a branch."

Sign-in: OAuth in your AI tool the first time you use it.

Install this MCP server

Optional: fill these in to put them straight into the snippet. They stay in your browser and are never sent to CommandVault.

Or add to .cursor/mcp.json (project) or ~/.cursor/mcp.json (everywhere)
