PlanetScale MCP server (official, remote)

Query PlanetScale Postgres and MySQL databases and read Insights and schema recommendations via hosted MCP.

PlanetScale hosts an MCP endpoint that lets an agent list organizations, databases and branches, run read and write queries, and pull Query Insights and schema recommendations. You authorize through PlanetScale OAuth and choose which organizations and databases the client can reach; headless clients can send a service token as a bearer token. An insights-only endpoint (/mcp/planetscale-insights-only) drops the query tools when you only want performance data. Great for investigating slow queries and reviewing schema advice.

Try asking:

  • "Which queries on my 'prod' branch were slowest in the last 24 hours, and why?"
  • "Show me PlanetScale's schema recommendations for the 'app' database."
  • "Count users created per day this week on the dev branch."

Sign-in: OAuth in your AI tool the first time you use it.

Optional: fill these in to put them straight into the snippet. They stay in your browser and are never sent to CommandVault.

Or add to .cursor/mcp.json (project) or ~/.cursor/mcp.json (everywhere)
