Postgres best practices (Supabase)

Skill
submitted by u/client to c/backend · 0 uses

Supabase's prioritized Postgres rules for schema, indexes, RLS, migrations and slow queries.

A Postgres guide that applies anywhere, not just on Supabase. Claude loads it before creating or changing tables, writing migrations, RLS policies, indexes, triggers or functions, and when tracking down slow queries. Rules are grouped by impact, from query performance and connection management down to advanced features, each with wrong and right SQL examples. Rule files live in a references folder.

Try asking:

  • "Review this migration for Postgres best practices"
  • "This query is slow, here's the EXPLAIN output"
  • "Design the schema for a multi-tenant app with RLS"
