Redis MCP server (official)

MCP server
submitted by u/client to c/backend · 0 uses

Read and write Redis keys, hashes, lists, streams, JSON and vector indexes through natural language.

Redis's own server gives the agent tools for strings, hashes, lists, sets, sorted sets, streams, pub/sub, JSON documents and vector search indexes, plus server info and key scanning. It connects with a Redis URL (or host/port/password variables) and works with Redis Cloud, Redis Software and open-source Redis. There is no separate read-only switch, so point it at a dev instance or use a Redis ACL user with limited commands for production. Handy for inspecting cache contents, debugging queues and prototyping vector search.

Try asking:

  • "Scan keys matching 'session:*' and tell me how many there are and their TTLs."
  • "Create a vector index for product embeddings with 1536 dimensions."
  • "Show the last 20 entries of the 'events' stream."

Sign-in: an API key or token (set it in the install snippet below).
