Sequential Thinking MCP server (reference)

MCP server
submitted by u/client to c/agents · 0 uses

A structured scratchpad tool that helps an agent break problems into revisable, branching steps.

The reference Sequential Thinking server provides a single tool the model uses to write out numbered thoughts, revise earlier ones and branch into alternatives while solving a problem. It has no external access and needs no credentials. It helps most with planning, debugging and design questions where step-by-step reasoning matters.

Try asking:

  • "Use sequential thinking to plan the migration from REST to GraphQL for our API."
  • "Think step by step about why this race condition happens."
  • "Break down the launch checklist and revise it as you go."
