Sourcegraph MCP server (official, remote)

MCP serverLow risk
submitted by u/client to c/backend · 0 uses

Code search, navigation and history across all your repositories through your Sourcegraph instance.

Sourcegraph's MCP endpoint gives an agent keyword and natural-language code search, file reading, go-to-definition and find-references, commit and diff search, and Deep Search across every repository indexed by your instance. It authenticates with OAuth (mcp scope) or a Sourcegraph access token. Replace sourcegraph.com with your own instance URL for enterprise code; /.api/mcp/all exposes the full tool suite. Ideal for large monorepos and cross-repo questions.

Try asking:

  • "Find every place we call the legacy billing client across all repos."
  • "Where is the RateLimiter interface defined and who implements it?"
  • "What commits touched the auth middleware in the last month?"

Sign-in: OAuth in your AI tool the first time you use it.

Optional: fill these in to put them straight into the snippet. They stay in your browser and are never sent to CommandVault.

Or add to .cursor/mcp.json (project) or ~/.cursor/mcp.json (everywhere)
