TDD loop (Matt Pocock)

Skill
submitted by u/client to c/backend · 0 uses

A compact red-green-refactor guide focused on good tests, seams and avoiding mocks.

Used when you want to build or fix something test-first. It defines what a good test looks like, where test seams belong, which anti-patterns to avoid (especially heavy mocking), and the rules of the loop. Extra notes cover mocking and test style. Short and opinionated, from Matt Pocock's widely used skills collection.

Try asking:

  • "Build the cart total function test-first"
  • "Fix this bug with red-green-refactor"
  • "Add integration tests for the signup flow"
