Perplexity MCP server (official)

MCP server
submitted by u/client to c/data · 0 uses

Web-grounded answers, deep research and reasoning from Perplexity's Sonar models, plus raw search results.

Perplexity's server exposes tools for quick web search results, conversational answers with citations, deep multi-source research and step-by-step reasoning, using Perplexity's Sonar API. It needs a Perplexity API key and usage is billed per request, with deep research costing the most. Good when you want a researched, cited answer rather than a list of links.

Try asking:

  • "Do a deep research report on European heat pump subsidies in 2026, with sources."
  • "What is the latest stable version of PostgreSQL and what's new in it?"
  • "Compare the pricing of the three biggest vector database services."

Sign-in: an API key or token (set it in the install snippet below).

Optional: fill these in to put them straight into the snippet. They stay in your browser and are never sent to CommandVault.

Or add to .cursor/mcp.json (project) or ~/.cursor/mcp.json (everywhere)
